Are you someone who loves both technology and writing? Would you like to have a career that is creative as well as aids user experience?

UX writing is one such career that is a perfect blend of technology and creativity.

What exactly is UX writing?

UX writing or User Experience writing is a type of writing which comprises of microcopy that informs, aids, and guides a user while using apps or visiting websites.

Let us delve deeper and try to understand UX writing with examples.

E.g.1

Suppose you search 'How to become a UX writer' in your favourite search engine (my guess is Google).

You get a lot of results, millions perhaps, or thousands at the very least.

The text that you see in the results is UX writing and has probably been written by an enthusiastic writer who worked cross-functionally with a UX design team.

Without UX writing, your results would look blank and all you would get is some tabs with no instructions and no information.

Like Thanos snapping his finger, all the text would be missing and only the design would be visible.

E.g.2

You download a mental health app (who doesn't need a little calm and quiet). While you may marvel at the design and the smooth widgets of the app, without any text, the app really doesn't make any sense, right!

What would you do with an app that has a violet background and attractive push buttons but has no information at all?!!

Content is the king, they say, and in the universe of user experience, the written word is the undisputed king.
